Apple Roses

Yields1 Serving
 2 red eating apples
 75g sugar
 Block or sheet of puff pastry
 1-2 tspns cinnamon
 75g melted butter
 1 egg beaten
 A little water
 Icing sugar

Heat oven to 200c , grease a muffin tray

Slice the apples thinly . Put on a plate , and microwave for about 30 seconds . Cover plate with cling film

Roll out the pastry and cut into strips about 7cm wide

Mix the sugar and cinnamon together

Brush the strips with melted butter then sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar

Lay the apple slices on the pastry , leaving a cm at the bottom . Fold bottom of pastry over the bottom of the apples

Beat the egg and water together and brish the pastry . Starting at one end roll them up to form a 'rose'. Sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar and bake for 30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown .

Dust with icing sugar and serve .

You could use raspberry or apricot jam to brush them with if preferred
