Chocolate and nut brownies

Yields1 Serving
 4oz butter
 5 oz sugar
 2 eggs
 2oz good quality plain chocolate chopped
 2pz chopped walnuts or pecans ( optional)
 1 tspn vanilla extract
 2 tblspns black coffee
 1.5 tspn baking powder
 2oz Cocoa ( please not hot chocolate )
 2oz plain flour

Heat oven to 180C

Grease and line a 7" square tin

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Add in the eggs

Fold in the nuts ( if using ) and chocolate

Stir through the coffee and vanilla extract

Mix in the sieved cocoa , flour and baking powder

Pour into a prepared tin

Bake for 30-40 minutes

Cool in tin for 15 minutes then turn onto a rack to finish cooling

Slice and serve

Lovely warm with cream or ice cream and berries but delicious cold
