beef goulash

A good hearty dish to serve with boiled rice or jacket potato

  • Prep: 25 mins
  • Cook: 7 hrs
  • Yields: 6 serving with rice or potato


1lb beef mince

1/2 red peppers from a jar or 1 large red one chopped and deseeded

2 small onions chopped

1 tin chopped tomatoes

2 tbs smokey paprika

300ml water

2 tbs ready chopped garlic

1 beef oxo cube


1Just put everything in slow cooker set to low or auto,

2 mix well and cover with lid and leave,

3 stir after a couple of hours

As its done in the slow cooker prep time is short but it take a while to cook

it is traditionally made with beef chunks, but as i used only what i had i made it with minced beef, it was still as tender and really tasty, maybe try it for yourself.

The thing I love about goulash is how tender the beef chunks go; I can’t imagine it with mince but I might give it a go x

Beef mince? Sorry to argue but in what universe? Goulash (or gulyás) is a stew that’s with chunks or diced beef and not mince. Even if it’s made from mince they are formed into meatballs.
