Pressure Cook Beef and Broccoli

1lb skirt steak (or stewing steak )

1tblspn oil

1 Onion diced

125ml Beef Broth

1 large head Broccoli

2tblspns Potato Starch or cornflour

6tblspns dark Soy Sauce

3tblspns light soy sauce

2tblspns fish sauce

1tblspn Sesame Oil

5 Cloves Fresh Garlic minced

0.5tspn Chinese Five Spice

Chilli flakes to taste

Optional extras

Water Chestnuts

Thin Sliced Carrots


Sesame Seeds (Toasted)


1Mix together the marinade ingredients, add sliced beef and allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes.

2Select Sauté or Browning on Pressure Cooker and allow to fully heat.

3Add Oil to the Pressure Cooker cooking pot, add onions and sauté for 4 minutes.

4Add the sliced beef and marinade to the cooking pot and sauté until slightly browned, about a minute or two.

5Turn off Pressure Cooker. Add broth to the cooking pot.

6Lock on lid and close Pressure Valve.

7At this point you can add the rice and cook pot in pot method

8Cook at High Pressure for 10minutes.

9When Pressure cooker finishes , allow at least 10 minute natural release and then when all pressure is releasedremove the lid

10Select Sauté/Browning and add broccoli to the pot.

11 Remove about 0.25cup of liquid from the pot and whisk in potato starch or cornflour (which you’ve mixed with a little water) until smooth. Return liquid to pot. Simmer until broccoli is just tender . Turn off heat.

12Drizzle over sesame seeds and serve with rice

13If using the extra veg add at the same time as the broccoli

Are there any muscle foods bundles this month. Coming to the end of my stash in the freezer and want to order but haven’t seen anything this month 🙂
