Penny2017-08-13T20:01:38+00:00 Total Recipe Views: 3,967 Treacle Pudding By Penny Puddings / Dessert English August 13, 2017 A stick to your ribs pudding Prep: 10 mins Cook: 1 hr 35 mins Yields: 6-8 servings Ingredients Ingredients 175g softened butter, plus extra for greasing 3 tblspns golden syrup, plus extra for drizzling 1 tblspn fresh white breadcrumbs 175g golden caster sugar zest 1 lemon 3 beaten eggs 175g self-raising flour 2 tbsp milk Directions 1Grease a 1-litre pudding basin. 2Mix the golden syrup with the breadcrumbs, tip into the pudding basin. 3Cream the butter , sugar and lemon zest until light and fluffy, 4Gradually add eggs 5Fold in the flour, then finally add the milk if needed 6Spoon into the basin. 7Cover with a double layer of greaseproof and foil making a fold in the centre to let the pudding rise. 8Tie the foil with string, then place in a steamer or large pan on top of an upturned saucer containing enough gently simmering water to come halfway up the sides of the basin. Steam for 1.5 hrs 9.
