An economical dinner full of Indian inspired spices

 500 g Mince
 80 g Porridge oats(optional)
 1 Onion chopped
 2 Garlic cloves chopped
 1 tbsp (thumbsize) piece of ginger grated
 1 tsp Cumin
 ½ tsp Chilli paste or 1tsp of flakes
 1 tbsp Garam masala
 1 pinch Turmeric
 200 g Tomatoes chopped
 200 ml Passata
 1 Handful of coriander chopped
 1 Handful of spinach chopped
 200 g of frozen peas
 100 ml Water

Put a frying pan on a low heat with 1tsp of the oil and gently fry the garlic, ginger, chilli, and spices for then add the onion and cook until softened and fragrant then set aside

Put a pan on a medium heat and put the mince in. Dry fry it to brown it off,breaking it up with a wooden spoon, then drain the fat off if needed.

Add your onion and spice mix,stir well then add the oats,(if using),tomatoes, passata and water and stir then leave to simmer for 20-30 mns

Add the peas,coriander and spinach,stir and cook for a few minutes add a little water if needed

Serve with rice and nan bread

Add plain yoghurt if you like it a bit creamy
Add potatoes to bulk it out further

Replace the tomatoes and passata with a tin of chopped tomatoes.Replace the spices-cumin,garam masala,turmeric with curry powder if you want to keep the costs down
