Onion Strings

So moreish

 2 large onion very thinly sliced - I use a mandolin
 1-2 cups of milk or butter milk
 1-2 cups Plain flour
 Pinch salt
 0.5 tspn cayenne pepper
 Black pepper
 Oil to fry

Put the sliced onions in a baking dish

Cover with milk/buttermilk and leave for a good hour

Combine flour , salt , and peppers and put on a shallow dish

Heat oil to 180c

Grab a handful of onions, throw into the flour mix

shake off excess

PLUNGE into hot oil.

Fry for a few minutes and remove as soon as golden brown.

Drain on kitchen paper serve
