Pizza Sauce

Yields1 Serving

 1 tin of tomatoes
 2 thinly sliced garlic cloves
 A good glug of olive oil
 Handful of torn basil leaves
 Salt and black pepper

Heat the oil in a large saucepan and add the garlic slices

When the garlic starts to colour add the other ingredients

Mash down the tomatoes with the back of a wooden spoon

Bring to the boil

Let it simmer for a couple of minutes

Push the sauce through a dive to remove the garlic , basil leaves and pips

Scrape the bottom of the sieve into sieved sauce

Discard the contents of the sieve

Put the sauce back on the hob and simmer for at least 5 minutes

Let it cool

Put it on top of your pizza base and then add toppings
