Boiled Rice

An easy method to cook rice

 150 g Long grain rice
 300 ml Water
 1 Chicken stock cube (optional)
 1 tbsp Butter(optional)

Rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water

Add to the pan along with the water. Dont stir!

Add the stock cube and heat the water till boiling. Don't stir!

Lower the heat till just simmering. Add the butter. Dont stir!

Add a lid to the saucepan and leave to simmer for 10 mns

Check on it,Don't stir! Replace the lid, turn off the heat and leave it for 10 minutes to absorb the remaining water

Check on it again. Taste it. . At this stage it's nearly perfect but it's still a little wet so put the lid back on for 3-4 more mns

Once ready it should seperate easily,stir to mix through the stock cube then fluff with a fork and serve with any dish you like
The stock cube adds flavour as does the butter but you can leave them out.
