Apple and pear cakes

A great way to use up leftover fruit that is past its best.  Good for packed lunches.  Can be frozen.


a pear

an apple

4oz self raising flour

4oz butter/marg

4oz caster sugar

2 medium eggs

handful of raisins.


1Cream together your butter and sugar.

2Add your egg - you can get away with less egg if you want. Maybe 1 large or 2 small would be fine.

3Fold in your flour.

4Add your peeled and finely chopped apple and pear and raisins.

5Bake in a medium oven for about 20 mins - check after about 15. Ready when golden brown and cooked through.
