Feed Your Family: More From Less. Shop smart. Cook clever.
00Turkey Breast SatayTurkey meat is relatively cheap to buy, which makes it a good alternative to more expensive cuts of chicken or beef. Its healthier too as it's low in fat, cooks quickly and is a great midweek addition to your meal plans. This curry is full flavoured but mild enough for the children, so all the family can enjoy it. I've used the Ninja Foodi to Air fry the meat, then sautéed it with the sauce, but you could just as easily do this in a pot on the stove. It's easy to adapt to you and your families tastes and is a great way to add or hide more vegetables if you prefer- I added some grated courgette as it needed using up and it blended into the sauce without anyone noticing it was there- win win! I use Mayflower Curry Powder as it has all the spices I need in 1 box, so I used it for the marinade and the sauce, along with the peanut butter and sweet chilli sauce, keeping it nice and simple 😋 Why not give this a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below. 00Steam and Crisp Roast ChickenThis is my first experience of using the Ninja Foodi to steam and crisp chicken and potato wedges, and it certainly won't be my last. The wedges were the nicest I've tasted and the chicken was delicious with moist meat and a crispy skin just bursting with flavour. I've kept this rather simple, with garlic lemon wedges, and a herby crust on the chicken, but by all means experiment by adding other vegetables to the pot, along with any herbs, spices etc that you prefer. I'm sure all the family will enjoy this recipe as it can be a quick and easy midweek meal or a Sunday dinner.. Why not give this a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below . 00Air fryer Celeriac FriesI'll be honest, it's not the prettiest looking of the vegetable family, but looks aren't everything. This humble, ugly vegetable is very versatile. You can add it to soup, casseroles, traybakes, curries, or mash it for the creamiest mash. It's a great low-carb alternative to potatoes. They may not be the crunchiest fries you've had, but the soft creamy taste is lovely. You can add some different toppings, herbs, spices, etc, to flavour them ...sesame seeds for crunch or even Parmesan for a tangy taste, or keep it simple with just a little salt if you prefer. The choice is yours. I've done these in the Airfryer but they can be done in the oven too. I'm sure you and the family will enjoy the taste and the healthy change, so why not give this a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below. We love to hear your feedback. E x
00Air Fryer Chicken NachosThis recipe is so versatile. It makes for a great midweek dinner....or as one of the best TV snacks ever! Perfect for movie nights, watching the footy in the afternoon, a picnic in the garden, or lounge, if the weather turns cold, or as part of a sharing platter for a midweek feast. I used Chicken but you can totally substitute this for minced beef, pork, or leave it out altogether and just have the classic combo of cheese, tomato salsa, guacamole and sour cream. The choice is yours. You could also use cooked and shredded chicken and miss out the 1st steps altogether. The fajita seasoning mix can be found on the website and at the bottom of the page. It's great to make a batch and keep the remainder for another recipe, or you can use a pre made packet mix. The final stages of the recipe are best cooked in 2 batches as you want nice crunchy Nachos, which you won't get if you crowd the pan - the Air fryer needs to circulate the air to do its job correctly. This stage take minutes so don't worry about not serving it together- just cover the 1st batch with foil for a few minutes and it will be fine. Im sure this will soon be a family favourite that you can adapt to suit your tastes. Why not give this a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below. We love to hear your feedback. Eve x
00Paprika Hassleback New PotatoesNew Potatoes are amazing for their fresh buttery flavours, but sometimes you just crave them with a little bit of spice and that's were this Paprika spice blend delivers. It's a little touch of sweet with just the right amount of spice to pep up your taste buds. Of course you can tailor it to suit your tastes by using less paprika, or a smoked paprika, which will add an extra depth of flavour, for a bit more spice try adding some chilli to the mix, or leave those flavours out altogether, and just dress them with a little salt n pepper. This is a lovely side dish that adds extra dimensions to your humble potato. I've used the Airfryer for this recipe but these can also be done in a conventional oven too. Slicing them into hasslebacks means they cook quickly, the spice blend gets into all the little nooks n crannies, and makes them look good too, but you can leave them whole if you prefer. The choice is yours, but why not give these a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below. We love to hear your feedback. E x
00Air Fryer King Prawn TacosKing Prawns can be expensive but now and again, you get them on offer or reduced, and you want to make the most of them without ruining their delicate flavours. This recipe shows them off perfectly. I've kept this very simple by just using a few ingredients to marinade the Prawns with and pairing it with a little salad and some crunchy Tortilla crisps for added bite. Tacos are a great summer dish that's light, full of flavour and very versatile. You can add any toppings you fancy or keep it simple with just a green salad. The choice is entirely up to you and your families tastes. You can make it fun by putting everything on a board and letting them fill their own Taco shells, or wrap in greaseproof or foil for an authentic street food vibe. 00Steam Airfried Basa Fillets with a Medley of Mediterranean VegetablesThis is a one pot dish that's oh so simple but bursting with fresh flavours. It's perfect for a date night, quick lunch or just a light bite. I decided to use the Steam Airfry as both the potatoes and fish were delicate so needed a gentler form of cooking, but you can totally do this in your oven or on the hob if you dont have the Foodi. I've used basa fillets(river cobbler) as they are relatively cheap, mild in flavour with a firm texture that's robust enough for the Airfryer but you can totally change this for salmon, trout or any fish you prefer.... If using skinless fish then place it on some parchment paper so it doesn't fall through the grill rack onto the vegetables below. I cooked the fish for 8 minutes but it probably could have done with a minute or 2 less....but its all a learning curve isn't it? So bear with me whilst we learn together. If doing more than 2 fillets then best to do them in batches so they cook evenly. I added a little extra veg to the pot too, that needed using up so feel free to do likewise, or just ignore. This is a very easy dish to adapt to your tastes. Swap the fish, swap the veggies, swap the olives for green beans or leave them out if you dont like them etc. Why not give this a try and let us know how you get on in the comments below. 00Air Fryer Coconut Prawns with a spicy mayo dipIf your new to air frying or just use it for basic cooking - for chips, nuggets etc then this recipe is for you. It's easy, speedy and best of all full of flavour. The step by step picture guide let's you follow the recipe easily and allows you to tailor it to suit your machine, whether it's a simple Air fryer or a multi cooker, like the Ninja Foodi. As with almost all of our recipes you can adapt it to suit your needs too by swapping the panko for regular or homemade breadcrumbs, or using cooked prawns instead of raw- adjusting the cooking times accordingly, If you don't like coconut then just use all breadcrumbs.
