you’re kids will love you forever and you’ll make it again. Not forgetting you get to feel like a mad scientist when you add the last ingredient


100g caster sugar

4 tbspn golden syrup

1& 1/2 tspns bicarbonate of soda


1Put the sugar and syrup into a saucepan and stir to mix . Do NOT stir once it's on the hob

2Put the pan on the heat , let it go gooey and then start to bubble and go the colour of maple syrup

3Take off the heat and whisk in the bicarbonate of soda ( you'll love this bit as it kind of looks like a volcano

4Pour it immediately onto greased foil or a lined dish

5When set break it into shards and eat or use on top of ice cream or cover with melted chocolate for extra indulgence
