Mince Pie Swirls

A different twist

  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Cook: 20 mins
  • Yields: 12 swirls


Puff pastry


Beaten egg

2 tblspn sugar

2 tblspn water


1Heat oven to 200c

2Roll out the pastry

3Spread mincemeat over the pastry

4Roll it up like a Swiss roll

5Cut pieces about 1-1.5” wide

6Lay flat on a lined baking tray

7Brush with beaten egg

8Bake for 15-20 minutes until risen and golden

9Meanwhile put the sugar and water in a pan and let the sugar melt completely

10Remove the swirls from the oven

11Sit on a rack

12Brush with the sugar syrup

13Cool and enjoy

Add less mincemeat , you want an even spread . You’ll always get some oozing as you can see . P

Made these recently but the mincemeat boiled out of the pastry. How do I stop this happening because they tasted lovely just didn’t look good
