 2 large onion very thinly sliced - I use a mandolin
 1-2 cups of milk or butter milk
 1-2 cups Plain flour
 Pinch salt
 0.5 tspn cayenne pepper
 Black pepper
 Oil to fry

Put the sliced onions in a baking dish

Cover with milk/buttermilk and leave for a good hour

Combine flour , salt , and peppers and put on a shallow dish

Heat oil to 180c

Grab a handful of onions, throw into the flour mix

shake off excess

PLUNGE into hot oil.

Fry for a few minutes and remove as soon as golden brown.

Drain on kitchen paper serve

  1. I made onion rings for the first time yesterday turned out great. Double dipped them in milk, then flour did some plain flour then added one teaspoon salt and chilli seasoning to the flour to make spicy rings. It was soon good!
