Served it with mash and veg and used gluten free flour. I meant to do it in the slow cooker but ran out of time so I did it on the hob, I also forgot to put the creme fraiche in but it was so nice without I don’t think I will bother getting it next time – save the calories and cost. Only down side- it stuck to the pan badly at the beginning despite a tablespoon of oil so not sure how to remedy that next time. Michael MacDonell September 3, 2017 I tell you what…..*smoked paprika*….. ( grins wickedly) Kate McCarthy August 31, 2017 Thanks. I think I will give this a try for her then as it will be different to a classic beef stew. 🙂 Feed your family for about £20 a week. August 31, 2017 leave it out , it won’t make a huge difference . P Kate McCarthy August 31, 2017 Thanks Penny, I understand. I’m looking for things to freeze in portions for my Mum and she wouldn’t have creme fraiche to add. I wonder if it would make much to a difference to not add it at all? Penny Trenwith August 31, 2017 The only reason I say that is that it may split on freezing . P Kate McCarthy August 31, 2017 OK, thanks, Perhaps not quite what I am looking for then. Feed your family for about £20 a week. August 31, 2017 Add the creme fraiche on reheating . P Kate McCarthy August 31, 2017 Is the finished stew suitable for freezing? Vicky Thomson August 31, 2017 Alison Thomson Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
