Posh Cheese On Toast

A little more effort than just cheese but worth it

  • Yields: 4 servings


2oz flour

2oz butter

9oz warmed beer or stout

9oz grated strong cheese

2 tspns mustard

2 tblspns Worcestershire sauce


4 slices of bread


1Heat the grill

2Melt butter in a pan

3Add the flour and cook for a couple of minutes

4Stir in the beer gradually to make a sauce

5Add the cheese and stir till melted

6You should have a thick paste

7Add in the mustard and Worcestershire sauce

8Toast the bread lightly then top with the mix and grill until bubbly and golden

Use milk instead of beer if liked
