Toffee Apples

We don’t want this week be falling off of the page

Yields1 Serving
 4 eating apples
 225g sugar ( doesn't matter what type )
 110ml water
 25g butter
 1/2 tspn vinegar
 2 tbspns golden syrup
 Tspn red food colouring
 4 lolly sticks
 Oiled baking parchment

Put the water and sugar in a saucepan

Over a low heatedly the sugar , stirring the whole time

When the sugar is melted , turn up the heat and add the butter , vinegar and golden syrup

Heat it until it reaches 138C ( or soft crack , you can check this by letting the mix boil for 5 minutes or so and then taking a drop and putting it into cold water , when it is at the right temperature it will immediately form small shards that will break easily on bending )

When this stage is reached put a lolly stick in the apples and dip in the toffee

Put on some oiled baking parchment to set
