Chicken Wings - fabulous on the bbq, as part of a buffet table, a picnic lunch or a snack when watching TV. They are a great budget buy at any time but can also be frequently found in the reduced section in the supermarket which makes them a good buy. This recipe is super easy,quick and full of flavour. This is a meal for one person but the quantities can easily be adjusted to feed 2 or more. You can also use this method to cook with chicken thighs or drumsticks - just adjust the cooking time accordingly. Mix the soy sauce and chilli flakes together and brush over the chicken wings. Heat the oil in a pan on a medium heat and add the wings
Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side to sear and colour the chicken-This adds flavour.
Pour the water into the pan. Crumble over the stock cube, add the sugar and garlic and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat, cover with a lid and simmer for 15-20 minus, turning them over halfway through, till the sauce has reduced into a syrup- this intensifies the flavour
Continue turning the wings to coat them in the sauce
Drizzle over the honey and turn the wings till they are fully coated.
Serve warm with stir fried veg, and drizzle over any remaining sauce
You can also serve this with rice, mash potatoes, cous cous or chips.
