Golden Syrup Damper Bread – no yeast required

This is a no yeast bread that doesn't need bread flour. It was traditionally an australian bread cooked on a camp fire.

Yields4 Servings

 6 cups self raising flor
 1 tsp salt
 4 tbsp butter
 4 tbsp golden syrup
 2 cups milk
 4 tbsp boiling water

Pre heat oven to GM 6 / 200c and pre heat your loaf tin / cake tin

Dissolve your butter and golden syrup in the boiling water and then add the milk

combine your flour and salt together

add your wet and dry ingredients together and mix well

form into a round and add to your preheated cake tin

cook for 25 - 30 minutes
