A traditional Scottish supper
Place sausages in a deep pan
Slice the onions lenghtways and add to the pot
Pour in the water and bring to the boil
Once boiling,lower heat to a gentle boil(simmer)
Simmer for 45mns
To make the gravy- Crush the Bovril cubes and add to the pot,stirring continuously until blended
Mix a tbsp of water into the cornflour and blend to a smooth paste
Add this to the pot and stir
If you find it easier you can take some of the liquor out of the pot and make the gravy separately then add to pot.
Serve with mash potato and veg
If you find the gravy to thin then increase the heat and leave to boil for a few minutes , the liquid will reduce and thicken the gravy
