Braised Beef and Onions

serve with creamy mash and leafy vegetables

Yields1 Serving
 700g braising steak
 Plain flour for dusting
 2tbspn sunflower oil
 3 medium onions very finely sliced
 2 tspn caster sugar
 5 garlic cloves sliced
 700 ml beef stock ( homemade or use 2 sock cubes)
 3 tblspn Worcestershire sauce
 4 large mushrooms sliced thickly
 Handful of fresh chopped parsley

Heat the oil gently

Add the sliced onions and fry for 5 minutes

Add in the sugar and cook for a further 5-10 minutes you want lovely caramelised onions

Add the garlic for the final five minutes

Pour in the stock and Worcestershire sauce

Dust the beef with a little flour and seal in another pan

Add the beef and mushrooms to the onions and stock , seasons n well with black pepper

Cover and cook for about 2 hrs

Sprinkle some parsley over before serving
