Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

250g bread flour

1 tspn salt

1 sachet easy bake yeast

20g softened butter

150ml warm water

Filling:

30g softened butter

100g sultanas

2-3 tspn cinnamon

Topping :

100g caster sugar

100g sugar

1 beaten egg

Directions

1Combine the flour , salt , yeast , butter and water

2When it forms a smooth dough tip onto a floured surface

3Knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic

4Put back into the bowl and cover . Leave for at least an hour

5Tip the dough onto a floured surface and roll it to a rectangle about 1.5cm thick

6Spread the butter onto the dough

7Sprinkle over the sultanas

8Dust over the cinnamon

9From the narrowest end roll up the dough to form a sausage

10Cut into 6

11Lay them facedown on a greased baking sheet and leave for 45minitrs

12Heat oven to 190C

13Brush the swirls with beaten egg

14Bake for 20 minutes

15Put the sugar and water in a pan

16Bring to the boil allow to boil for about 2 minutes until syrup has thickened

17When swirls are cooked remove from the oven

18Brush immediately with the syrup
