Meringue Kisses

These are so good for a Mother’s Day gift or to add to a Christmas hamper


3 leg egg whites

175g caster sugar

A few drops of food colour ( pink , green , yellow , blue whatever you have


1Heat oven to 150C

2Line a baking tray with greaseproof

3Make sure your mixing bowl is really clean and grease free

4Put the egg whites into a bowl and whisk to stiff peaks

5Add in the sugar a spoonful at a time , whisking after each addition

6You want a thick glossy mix

7Desperate the mix into 2 or 3 bowls ( depending on how many colours you are using)

8Add a drop of colour to the bowls and stir the colour through

9Put mix into a piping bag fitted with a small nozzle

10Pipe small swirls of each colour ( or just a tspn on the tray if you don't have a piping bag )

11Leave room between them . You don't want them touching

12Bake for 45-60 minutes

13Cool on the tray for about 10 minutes then put onto a rack

14You can dip the bases in melted chocolate and then 100's 1000's if liked
