Wholemeal Scones

You can make these plain , fruit or cheese

Yields1 Serving
 200g wholemeal self raising flour
 50g butter or margerine
 15g sugar
 150g dried fruit
 145ml milk

Heat oven to 230C

Lightly grease a baking sheet

Put the flour in a mixing bowl

Add in the butter and rub together so it's like breadcrumbs

Mix in the sugar and fruit

Gradually stir in the milk to bring the mix together to form a firm dough . You may not need all the milk or you may need a little more

Place the mixture on a lightly floured surface

Roll out to 2cm thick

Cut out 8 rounds and place them on the baking sheet

Put in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until firm and golden

Cool on a wire tray

If making cheese scones omit the sugar and add 150g grated cheese and a tspn of mustard powder. Sprinkle a little cheese on top before baking
