Beer battered fish

Fakeaway friday favourite in my house is beer battered fish with chips and peas! Delicious and doesn't have to cost the earth either! Give it a try and let us know how you get on!

 80 g plain flour
 20 g self raising flour
 pinch of salt
 bottle of beer
 4 fish fillets - any white fish will do

Sift and combine your flour into a bowl - keep back a couple of tablespoons to dust your fish

Add the salt

Mix in the beer until you have a thick and gloopy batter

Dust the fish in flour to get it really dry - if you don't then the batter won't stick

Dip in the batter making sure to get good coverage

Fry in a fryer or fill your wok with about 4 inches of oil and get it really hot

Fry until your fish is floating and a deep golden colour
