 400 g plain flour
 1 tsp yeast
 60 ml warm water
 80 ml milk
 150 g caster sugar
 80 g butter
 1 lemon, zested
 1 egg
 2 tsp cinnamon
 80 g icing sugar
 1 tsp vanilla extract
1

In a small pan combine 70ml of milk, butter and half the caster sugar and stir well on a medium heat. Once your butter has melted, add your yeast.

2

In a bowl add your flour and lemon zest before adding in your warm milk mixture. In a separate bowl whisk your egg and 1/2 of the vanilla extract . Once mixed combine them both together to make your dough. Cover and place somewhere warm for at least an hour until the dough rises.

3

Preheat your oven to 200. Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle shape on a lightly floured surface. Spread your butter evenly over the dough before sprinkling on the remaining caster sugar and cinnamon.

4

Roll into a large sausage shape before cutting into 16 equal pieces. Place the rolls in to a Christmas tree shape on a tray lined with baking paper. Bake for approx 20 minutes.

5

Allow to cool slightly as you make your glaze drizzle. In a small bowl combine your milk, icing sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle across your Christmas tree and serve.
