Hobnob type biscuits

Cover the top in melted chocolate for a luxurious treat

 225g SR Flour
 225g Oats
 225g Butter
 85g Sugar
 2-3 tblspns golden syrup
 0.5 tspn baicarbonate of soda
 1 tblspn boiling water
 Chocolate - if using

Heat oven to 180c

Mix the flour , oats and sugar in a large bowl

Over a low heat melt the butter and golden syrup together

When the syrup and butter has melted together mix the bicarbonate with the boiling water - mind it will fizz!

Mix these with the dry ingredients and thoroughly combine

Using a cookie cutter as a guide put spoonfuls of the mix into a lined baking tray - don't make them too thick

Bake for about 15 minutes

Cool on tray for 5 minutes then finish cooking on a rack

Dip in chocolate that you've melted in a bowl over a simmering pan of water
