Cover the top in melted chocolate for a luxurious treat

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 15 mins
  • Yields: 18-24 biscuits

225g SR Flour

225g Oats

225g Butter

85g Sugar

2-3 tblspns golden syrup

0.5 tspn baicarbonate of soda

1 tblspn boiling water

Chocolate - if using

1Heat oven to 180c

2Mix the flour , oats and sugar in a large bowl

3Over a low heat melt the butter and golden syrup together

4When the syrup and butter has melted together mix the bicarbonate with the boiling water - mind it will fizz!

5Mix these with the dry ingredients and thoroughly combine

6Using a cookie cutter as a guide put spoonfuls of the mix into a lined baking tray - don't make them too thick

7Bake for about 15 minutes

8Cool on tray for 5 minutes then finish cooking on a rack

9Dip in chocolate that you've melted in a bowl over a simmering pan of water

This has been written down and will be tried asap as hubby has a bit of an addiction to hobnobs and they r so expensive – both the plain and choc ones x
