Semolina Pudding

an old fashioned pudding that needs to find its way back to our tables


1 pint of milk

3oz Semolina

1oz Caster Sugar

A knob of butter

Freshly grated nutmeg

Chocolate shavings or jam to serve


1Grease an ovenproof dish

2Put the milk in a saucepan and heat until lukewarm

3Sprinkle on the semolina , stirring all the time on a gentle heat until it boils and thickens

4Add in the sugar and butter , stir it through

5Heat oven to 160C

6Pour the semolina into the greased dish

7Grate over the nutmeg ( if using )

8Cook for 30 minutes

9Serve with grated chocolate over it or a dollop of jam
